According to property records, the artist known for “Video Games” continues to hold ownership of her Malibu residence, although she has opted to lend it to family members rather than reside there herself.

Malibu Beach House

The desire for privacy away from the bustling lifestyle in Los Angeles reportedly led Del Rey to acquire a Malibu beach house for $3 million in June 2015. Nestled among rocks right at the ocean’s edge, this home boasts a secluded location with no immediate neighbors. Built in the 1950s, the property underwent significant renovations since Del Rey’s purchase, which initially offered approximately 2,900 square feet of living space, featuring three bedrooms and four bathrooms, as noted by TMZ.

Later that summer, Del Rey unveiled the music video for “High By The Beach,” shot at the property and visually depicting her yearning for solitude amid her fame. The imagery includes Del Rey perusing a tabloid in her nearly empty house while a paparazzi helicopter attempts to capture her, culminating in a dramatic moment where she uses a bazooka to shoot down the helicopter.

However, her wish for privacy was short-lived, as the Malibu home was not immune to unwanted visitors. In December 2015, a 19-year-old fan was charged after being found camping inside the garage by a construction worker, underscoring the challenges of celebrity privacy.

In 2018, Del Rey sold the Malibu property for $3.2 million.

Neighboring Hollywood Hills Estates

Del Rey expanded her real estate portfolio in June 2016, acquiring two adjacent homes located near the Studio City and Beverly Hills Post Office border for a combined price of approximately $5.9 million. The purchase, which includes properties that are directly connected, provides her with added privacy. The larger of the two homes, which cost around $3.8 million, is a six-bedroom, seven-bathroom estate built in the 1930s. Spanning 5,400 square feet, it showcases a blend of Mediterranean and mid-century modern architectural styles, characterized by a flat wooden roof that extends over a paved patio, a stucco facade, and three grand arches welcoming visitors at the entrance. The lot also features a swimming pool and a guesthouse on its two-acre expanse.

The second property, a traditional-style ranch from the 1930s, set Del Rey back $2.1 million. This home has approximately 2,800 square feet, accommodating three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and is situated on another two acres. Notable architectural elements include vaulted beamed ceilings, hardwood floors, and decks with scenic canyon views. Like her other residence, it comes with its own swimming pool and guesthouse.

To this day, Del Rey maintains ownership of these two adjoining homes.

Echo Park Cabin

In 2018, Del Rey further enriched her collection of Los Angeles properties by purchasing a historic cabin in Echo Park for about $1.2 million. Built in 1911, this two-bedroom, one-bathroom dwelling is thought to be among the first homes erected in this trendy neighborhood and once belonged to silent film actress Clara Kimball Young.

The cabin, previously owned by HGTV personality Leanne Ford, underwent renovation in a rustic modern farmhouse style. Key features of the 1,200-square-foot home include a mid-century modern fireplace nestled in a stone hearth, enhancing the warmth of the cozy living room, which also boasts hardwood floors, an exposed beam ceiling, and white wood-paneled walls. The kitchen is outfitted with open shelving, centered around a long restored wooden table with built-in drawers. A vintage white Smeg refrigerator contributes to the overall aesthetic. Unique touches include stone flooring, an original claw-foot tub, and a covered patio outfitted with built-in stone seating.
