NBC has announced an exciting crossover event for fans of “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” set to take place on April 17. The storyline will delve into a disturbing series of rape and murder cases that specifically target marginalized women.
In addition, fans of “Law & Order” who have been missing the “Organized Crime” spinoff can rejoice. The Season 5 premiere is scheduled to air on NBC and will also be accessible for streaming on Peacock, its new home.
The narrative kicks off when Captain Benson, portrayed by Mariska Hargitay, receives an enigmatic phone call that directs detectives to a grim murder scene.
As the SVU team collaborates with the 2-7, they discover a troubling pattern of sexual violence and homicide aimed at vulnerable women. In response, ADA Dominick Carisi, played by Peter Scanavino, and his colleague Nolan Price, portrayed by Hugh Dancy, join forces to bring charges against the suspect involved.
Meanwhile, “Organized Crime,” featuring Chris Meloni in the role of Elliot Stabler, will debut its Season 5 episodes on Peacock, beginning with the first two episodes before new installments are released each Thursday.
It’s important to note that “Found,” which was initially set to occupy the 10 p.m. time slot on April 17, has been rescheduled to Monday, April 14, before returning to its regular schedule the following week.
Episodes of “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: SVU” will be available for next-day streaming on Peacock. This season, the two shows have collectively garnered an impressive 38.4 million viewers across both traditional and digital platforms, achieving record viewership highlights on Peacock with significant year-over-year increases in audience engagement, as reported by NBC.
Alongside Hargitay, the cast of “Law & Order” features Reid Scott, Mehcad Brooks, Odelya Halevi, Maura Tierney, and Tony Goldwyn.
The “SVU” ensemble includes Ice-T, Octavio Pisano, Kevin Kane, and Juliana Aidén Martinez, while “Organized Crime” boasts a talented cast featuring Danielle Moné Truitt, Rick Gonzalez, Ainsley Seiger, and Dean Norris.
