Katherine Legge Expands NASCAR Schedule with e.l.f. Cosmetics Partnership
Katherine Legge made history earlier this year when she became the 17th woman to compete at the NASCAR Cup level, with her debut at Phoenix Raceway—marking the first time a woman has participated in a Cup event since Danica Patrick seven years ago. Despite a challenging first race that saw her spin out twice and finish well behind the pack, the 44-year-old driver remains committed to her NASCAR journey.
On Thursday, Legge announced her plans to participate in at least seven more races this season across both the Cup and Xfinity Series, continuing her partnership with e.l.f. Cosmetics. Her next race is scheduled for April 19th, when she will compete in the Xfinity Series event at Rockingham—a significant milestone as it’s been over 20 years since NASCAR held a race at this historic track. Legge will drive the No. 32 Chevrolet for Jordan Anderson Racing, adding to her previous five starts in the Xfinity Series, where she achieved a notable 14th-place finish at Road America in 2018.
Race Plans and Future Aspirations
While Legge will be busy with the Xfinity race at Charlotte Motor Speedway during Memorial Day weekend, she has confirmed that she will not participate in the Indianapolis 500 this year. However, she expressed interest in attempting the challenging ‘Double’ of competing in both the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in the future. This ambition may be part of a broader strategy to accumulate more experience in stock car racing ahead of a potential attempt at this feat in 2026.
Legge’s next appearance in the Cup Series will be at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, set to host the first-ever Cup Series event in Mexico on June 15th, where she will again drive the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet. This venue holds significance for her, as she previously claimed victory in the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY race there in 2019 during the FIA Formula E race weekend.
A Veteran’s Journey
Known for her remarkable journey in motorsport, Legge is a seasoned competitor with experience in four Indy 500 races and victories in IMSA. She notably made history in 2005 by becoming the first woman to win a major open-wheel race in America with a victory in the Toyota Atlantic Series.
Empowerment Through Partnership
“I’ve never felt more empowered than I do with e.l.f. by my side,” Legge commented. “e.l.f. truly walks the walk when it comes to putting its community—and especially women in sports—in the, pun intended, driver’s seat. I’m thrilled to work towards achieving my racing goals with my e.l.f. team alongside Team Chevy. I want to be respected as one of the best drivers in motorsport and there is no better place to hone my skill set against the best of the best in front of the largest motorsport audience in the U.S. With the pivot to go all in on NASCAR, we are diversifying my own racing legacy as well as the paddock for future generations.”
Katherine Legge’s collaboration with e.l.f. Cosmetics, which began in 2023 during the Indy 500, is aimed at inspiring young athletes to pursue their dreams in racing. Kory Marchisotto, Chief Marketing Officer of e.l.f. Beauty, emphasized their mission: “As they say in NASCAR, we have found our groove. Fueling Katherine’s dream to be one of the best motorsports drivers of all time is our mission. Inspiring young athletes to fast track their own ambitions is our passion.” This partnership is emblematic of the growing presence of female fans in NASCAR, who are statistically more engaged in motorsport than their counterparts in other sports, presenting a unique opportunity for brands like e.l.f.
