LinkedIn Expands Verification System, Partners with Adobe
LinkedIn is broadening its free verification system beyond its own platform, enabling external websites and services to integrate LinkedIn verification instead of developing individual systems. Adobe is among the first companies to adopt this new functionality.
As part of this collaboration, Adobe will incorporate LinkedIn verification into its newly launched Content Authenticity app, as well as its existing Behance portfolio platform. This integration will allow creators who are verified through LinkedIn to showcase a “Verified on LinkedIn” badge on their profiles. Additionally, creators who utilize Adobe’s digital Content Credentials tools will see their verified identities displayed alongside their work shared on LinkedIn.
Oscar Rodriguez, LinkedIn’s vice president of trust, emphasized the importance of authenticity in the digital age, stating, “It’s getting progressively cheaper and easier to pretend you’re someone you’re not online. You’re also able to do so in a way that looks more credible than ever before. Obviously authenticity is super important for LinkedIn, as the platform is founded on this premise of trust.”
Rodriguez further noted that many online platforms are grappling with issues of inauthenticity, remarking, “We believe that this collaboration with Adobe will be critical in the sense of empowering LinkedIn members and partners to be able to understand specific attributes of someone’s identity that have been verified.”
Launched in 2023, LinkedIn’s verification process allows users to validate particular details such as their identity, workplace, or education history by using government-issued identification or official company emails. Since its inception, more than 80 million users have utilized these verification tools. Alongside Adobe, other early adopters of the expanded verification system include notable enterprise platforms such as TrustRadius, G2, and UserTesting.
