LISA’s Debut Album Dominates Weekly Music Poll
LISA’s Alter Ego has emerged victorious in this week’s new music poll, showcasing the latest offerings from various artists across multiple genres.
Music enthusiasts participated in a poll released on Billboard on February 28, casting their votes for LISA’s highly anticipated solo debut album as their top pick among the freshest new releases.
Alter Ego captured an impressive 49% of the total votes, outpacing other key releases, including Feid’s “Nos Desconocimos,” Benson Boone’s “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else,” Lizzo’s “Love in Real Life,” and collaborations from a variety of artists.
After much anticipation, LISA unveiled her first album on February 28, which features 15 newly crafted songs, alongside collaborations with artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Future, and Tyla. This project also includes previously launched singles such as “Rockstar,” “New Woman” featuring Rosalía, “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me),” and “Born Again” which features Doja Cat and RAYE.
In Alter Ego, LISA explores five unique personas: Roxi, Kiki, Vixi, Sunni, and Speedi. She revealed her connection to these characters in an interview with Sean Evans on Hot Ones, stating, “It represents five characters of me as well, like I feel related with them.”
Prior to this album, LISA had only released two singles as a solo artist: “LALISA” and “MONEY,” both of which made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2021, she also collaborated with DJ Snake on the track “SG,” featuring Ozuna, and contributed to “HISS,” which includes an appearance from a featured artist on the Alter Ego song “Rapunzel.”
LISA joins her BLACKPINK colleagues in launching solo projects recently. ROSÉ debuted her album rosie in December, while JISOO followed suit with her EP AMORTAGE in February. JENNIE is poised to release her debut LP, Ruby, on March 7, as the group prepares for a world tour scheduled for summer 2025.
Coming in second place in this week’s poll is Feid’s “Nos Desconocimos,” which garnered nearly 38% of the votes. This Colombian artist’s latest single is being released as he gears up for his European tour.
