Makers Plan to Recreate the Enchanting Land of Shiva in Hyderabad

SS Rajamouli’s forthcoming film is set to be a vibrant tribute to Indian culture.

In the wake of monumental successes like Magadheera, Eega, the Bahubali series, and RRR, renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli is poised to deliver yet another remarkable cinematic experience. His next project is an ambitious yet untitled jungle adventure featuring prominent stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Currently in production, the film promises to intertwine Indian historical narratives with mythological themes.

According to an insider report from Pinkvilla, the production team aims to recreate an evocative portrayal of Shiva’s realm in Hyderabad, primarily due to logistical challenges associated with filming in real-world settings of such grandeur. The insider expressed, “The jungle adventure is set against the backdrop of Kashi, and the filmmakers intend to simulate this sacred land in Hyderabad to effectively manage the scale of the project. The narrative’s foundation is deeply rooted in Kashi’s historical significance, drawing a parallel between its divine heritage and an exciting contemporary storyline. Kashi is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the film’s arc.”

Further insights revealed that Rajamouli envisions shooting the film, provisionally titled SSMB 29, using a hybrid approach—combining on-location shooting in various forested regions with grandiose sets that replicate iconic historical sites found across India.

“From lush forests to flowing rivers to ancient caves—SS Rajamouli is committed to delivering an extraordinary experience through diverse landscapes. The production team is exploring some of the most untouched locations in India and Africa to captivate audiences with a stunning visual journey,” the source mentioned.

While Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj have commenced filming, Priyanka Chopra joined her co-stars in Odisha on March 11 to begin shooting key sequences in the jungle.

Additionally, this project is notable as it marks Priyanka Chopra’s return to Indian cinema after a break.

The film is expected to be backed by a global studio, reflecting the ambition to create an Indian cinematic experience that aligns with international standards. An official announcement regarding the film is anticipated in the coming months, with a slated release in summer 2027. Alongside the lead trio, a notable ensemble cast is being assembled, though details of other actors involved remain undisclosed.
