Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Shooting Incident in West London
A man has been formally charged with attempted murder following a shooting incident that left an eight-year-old girl and her father injured in west London. The alleged shooter, identified as Jazz Reid, 32, faces multiple charges including two counts of attempted murder, as well as possession of a firearm and ammunition connected to the incident.
The double shooting occurred in Ladbroke Grove on a Sunday afternoon. According to reports, the victims were traveling in their vehicle when a gunman opened fire, prompting widespread alarm among local residents who expressed their shock and disbelief following the event.
The eight-year-old girl underwent surgery and is currently reported to be in stable condition, while her 34-year-old father has sustained injuries that may significantly impact his quality of life. During the attack, the victims’ two-year-old sibling and their 32-year-old mother were also present in the vehicle but thankfully did not suffer any physical harm.
The incident unfolded around 5:30 PM, eliciting a swift response from emergency services and law enforcement. The Metropolitan Police announced that Reid, a resident of Kensington, west London, is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court for the initial proceedings on Friday.
