Edmonton police have announced that a man is facing charges of second-degree murder related to the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old in 2021. The incident, which shocked the local community, occurred in the early hours of September 4, 2021, when authorities discovered a severely injured young man at a bus stop situated on the north side of 118 Avenue at 85 Street. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Following an autopsy, it was determined that Tre Delver, the victim, had died from a stab wound. For over three years, the case remained unsolved, leaving many in the community seeking justice for the young man.
Significant Development in the Case
Recently, after nearly four years without any leads, homicide detectives took a significant step forward. On March 20, they arrested and charged 24-year-old Andy Michael Kytwayhat with second-degree murder in connection with this case.
According to the Edmonton Police Service (EPS), it has been confirmed that Kytwayhat and Delver were acquainted, and investigators do not believe any additional suspects are involved in the homicide.
The relentless pursuit of justice highlights the dedication of local law enforcement and the ongoing complexities surrounding violent crime investigations. The community hopes that as the legal process unfolds, it will bring closure to those affected by this tragedy.
