Issues with Delayed Notifications on Google Pixel Devices
Many users of Google Pixel phones have experienced the frustration of delayed notifications. For instance, unlocking the device often reveals outdated alerts from Gmail and WhatsApp, sparking concerns among users about the reliability of their notifications. A quick online search indicates that this might be a widespread concern.
To gain further insights, we surveyed our audience across multiple platforms, including our website, Twitter, and YouTube. The results suggest that a significant number of users are grappling with this issue.
On our website, a remarkable 79% of respondents indicated they experience delayed notifications on their Pixel devices. While it’s possible that this poll attracted primarily those affected by the issue, the results nonetheless point to a considerable problem affecting many users.
Android Authority reader Webo expressed a sentiment shared by many others, stating:
“I’ve had this issue since I got my Pixel 6 Pro almost 3 years ago. Very annoying. I tried every possible solution, and the only thing that worked was disabling Android Doze using an ADB command, but I have to do this every time I reboot my phone.”
Another reader, Arthur, noted a similar experience with delayed notifications on their Pixel 6 and 7 Pro, highlighting that they did not face such problems with their LG V60. This observation implies that the notification delay may be specific to Pixel devices rather than a broader Android issue.
In addition to our website survey, we also conducted a poll on Twitter, where 44.8% of participants reported experiencing delayed notifications on their Pixels. Similarly, 39% of YouTube viewers echoed these concerns about delayed alerts on their devices. Among these respondents, there was a notable mention of Gmail notifications specifically being delayed, further underscoring the issue.
As these findings reveal, the problem of delayed notifications on Google Pixel phones appears to be significant and may warrant further investigation to identify potential solutions or improvements.
