Senator Marco Rubio of Florida experienced a moment of immense pride as his son, Anthony Rubio, made his collegiate football debut by scoring his first touchdown during the Gasparilla Bowl against Tulane. The game, which took place on Friday night, showcased the Florida Gators dominating their opponent with a final score of 33-8.
In the closing moments of the game, Anthony, a walk-on running back for the Gators, secured his touchdown with a nine-yard run, contributing to Florida’s fourth consecutive win this season. Florida’s head coach, Billy Napier, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “Great to finish the right way.”
The match had already been decided when Anthony crossed the goal line, but his teammates celebrated the milestone, recognizing it as a significant achievement in his first college game.
