Maria Shriver Discusses Son’s Role in “White Lotus”
Maria Shriver recently shared her thoughts on her son Patrick Schwarzenegger’s acting career, particularly focusing on his recent performance in the HBO series “White Lotus.” In a conversation with People, Shriver revealed that she was completely unaware of a significant scene involving her son until her other children brought it to her attention.
During the interview, Shriver recounted her surprise, saying, “My kids were like, ‘Did you see that?’ And I was like, ‘No. What?’” She humorously noted that while watching the scene, her focus remained on her son’s expression rather than the entirety of his performance. “So that shows you — a mother’s eyes are always on the kids’ eyes,” she reflected.
In “White Lotus,” Schwarzenegger takes on the character of Saxon Ratliff, who is the older son of actors Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey. Shriver expressed her pride and happiness for Patrick, emphasizing the dedication he has shown in his craft. “I was so happy for him because he’s worked so hard,” she said. “He takes classes, he’s really been grinding at it for more than a decade, and he wanted to work his way up — and he’s done it his way.”
The third season of “White Lotus” was filmed in Thailand, a choice that is anticipated to significantly boost the country’s tourism industry. Previous seasons of the series have proven to be economically beneficial for their filming locations. According to TheWrap, each iteration has markedly contributed to local economies through direct spending and employment of local talent.
For context, the first and second seasons of the series generated economic impacts of $12.9 million and $40 million, respectively, in Maui, Hawaii and Sicily, Italy, as reported by HBO.
