British electronic musician and producer Mark Pritchard is collaborating with Thom Yorke, the frontman of Radiohead and the Smile, for an upcoming album. Their first joint project, titled Tall Tales, is set to be released on May 9 through Warp. The duo has also unveiled a new single called “This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice,” accompanied by a captivating black-and-white music video directed by Jonathan Zawada.
The track “This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice” marks the second single released from Tall Tales, following their previous song “Back in the Game.” The two artists made headlines by performing the latter live for the first time at a recent concert in the Sydney Opera House, where Pritchard headlined.
A press release highlights Zawada’s integral role in this project, noting that he serves as an unofficial “third member” of the collaboration. His music videos for both singles are part of a feature film he has been developing concurrently with the music over the past several years.
Pritchard and Yorke share a longstanding creative relationship, having collaborated previously on the track “Beautiful People” from Pritchard’s 2016 album, Under the Sun. Pritchard’s most recent solo album, The Four Worlds, was released in 2018, while last year, Yorke’s band The Smile debuted two records, Wall of Eyes and Cutouts.
