T-Pain and Mark Zuckerberg Release Unique Cover of “Get Low”
If you’re fond of the original version of Lil Jon’s “Get Low,” you might want to think twice before listening to the new rendition by T-Pain and Mark Zuckerberg, now dubbed Z-Pain. This updated interpretation significantly alters the feel of the track, replacing the high-energy beat that defined many school dances with a more subdued tempo accompanied by acoustic guitar.
The experience of hearing Zuckerberg’s autotuned vocals delivering lyrics such as “‘Til the sweat drop down my balls” can be quite jarring for longtime fans of the original. As the song progresses, T-Pain himself makes an appearance, adding his signature flair to the somewhat altered classic.
Zuckerberg revealed that his motivation for this cover was personal. In a post on Instagram, he shared, “‘Get Low’ was playing when I first met Priscilla at a college party, so every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary.” He continued, “This year I worked with @tpain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece. Sound on for the track and also available on Spotify.”
In an interesting twist, Zuckerberg sought to include the song directly in his Instagram post, however, users have reported technical difficulties with this feature on desktop platforms, leaving fans pondering if this is a wise limitation.
Update, November 13th: The song has been noted to be unavailable on the Instagram web app.
