PFA Scotland Player of the Year Nominations
Celtic’s Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda, and Nicolas Kuhn have been nominated for this season’s PFA Scotland Player of the Year award, joining Dundee’s Simon Murray in the running.
Both Maeda and Murray lead the Premiership scoring with an impressive tally of 16 goals each this season. In addition to his goal-scoring prowess, Maeda also leads in assists, having provided nine, tied with his Celtic teammate Alistair Johnston.
Nicolas Kuhn follows closely with eight assists and has netted 12 times in the league, showcasing his offensive contributions as well.
Celtic captain McGregor recently celebrated his tenth title victory with the club and is a previous recipient of the PFA Scotland Player of the Year award, having won it in 2022.
In terms of overall performance, Maeda boasts a remarkable 33 goals in all competitions for Celtic this season. Kuhn has contributed significantly with 20 goals, while Murray has scored 22 for Dundee.
Young Player of the Year Contenders
This year’s nominations for Young Player of the Season feature teenagers Lennon Miller and James Wilson, alongside Old Firm representatives Arne Engels and Hamza Igamane.
Both 18-year-old Miller, who plays for Motherwell, and Hearts striker Wilson have been recognized with call-ups to the Scotland national team, with Wilson even making his debut in the match against Greece in March.
Rangers forward Igamane, at 22, has made a strong impression in his debut season at Ibrox, scoring 15 goals. Midfielder Engels, aged 21, is one of eight players for the champions who have reached double digits in goals this season.
