Christian Weissmann’s Journey as Remy Pryce on The Bold and the Beautiful

Christian Weissmann’s debut on The Bold and the Beautiful as the multi-dimensional character Remy Pryce has been a long-awaited moment for the actor. Reflecting on his journey, Weissmann shares, “I auditioned several times for Bold, and while I got close on a few occasions, I never secured a role until now. When the opportunity for Remy came along, everything just clicked perfectly. As an actor, you often go through a series of auditions and wonder what could have been, but with this role and everyone involved at Bold, it just felt destined.”

Landing a role in the show was a significant achievement for Weissmann. “I was overjoyed,” he recalls. “I first auditioned for Bold at the age of 16 or 17, so it has been a long time coming. I vividly remember being at CBS Television City, thinking how amazing it would be to be part of such an iconic show. When I finally got the role, I couldn’t contain my emotions and called my mom right away. It felt as if everything had aligned perfectly, marking a truly special moment in my life.”

Familiar with the world of soap operas, Weissmann had always aimed to be part of this genre. “My mom and grandma were avid soap fans, often watching Bold and The Young and the Restless while I was growing up. It was always in the background during my upbringing,” he explains. “After moving to L.A. to pursue acting, I even took specific acting workshops focused on soap operas, as being part of one was a dream of mine.”

Weissmann expresses excitement about portraying Remy, whose darker complexities are gradually unfolding onscreen. “Remy is a deeply intricate character,” he observes. “At first glance, he may appear obsessive or erratic, but diving deeper into his psyche reveals a hidden vulnerability. He’s experienced neglect and isolation, which shapes his impulsive actions. Behind his chaotic moments, he’s simply a wounded individual trying to navigate his feelings.

Joining a younger ensemble on the soap has been a joy for Weissmann, who quickly connected with his co-stars early on. “It’s been an incredible experience,” he says enthusiastically. “I wanted to establish a good rapport with my colleagues from the onset. I remember meeting Laneya [Grace, who plays Electra Forrester] and bonding over shared interests like pop music, which helped us connect beyond our characters.” He highlights the synergy he shares with Crew [Morrow, who plays Will Spencer], noting the fun they have while navigating their on-screen dynamics, which starkly contrast their off-camera friendship.

Weissmann discovered his passion for acting at a young age, crafting his first play, a rendition of The Wizard of Oz, at just three years old. “That was the moment I realized I wanted to act,” he reflects. “My parents enrolled me in community theatre, and I soon attended Piven Theatre Workshop in Evanston, Illinois, developing my skills as an actor starting at the age of seven.”

Having landed his first agent at the age of 11, Weissmann began auditioning for commercials and took a decisive step when he was 14, creating a PowerPoint presentation for his parents urging them to let him move to Los Angeles. “They surprisingly agreed, allowing me to stay for what began as two months over the summer, eventually extending to six months. I found a high school in L.A. surrounded by fellow aspiring actors, gained representation, and began my journey in the industry,” he says. “It’s all been a dream come true since then.”

Weissmann made his television debut in 2014 on Girl Meets World, initially appearing as an extra for ten episodes. “In one of the last episodes, I got to say one line, and I thought, ‘This is it! Everyone should watch!’ But they ended up cutting it. Nevertheless, it was a defining moment for me, solidifying my commitment to acting.”

Another significant milestone in his career was participating in the 2020 reboot of Saved by the Bell, where he took on the role of Nate. “That experience was transformative for me,” he recalls. “I booked it just weeks before the onset of the pandemic, unsure of what was ahead. Initially, I was slated for one episode without a character name, but I ended up appearing in two episodes before everything shut down. It felt like a reunion since many of my former classmates from acting school were also on the show.”

Having grown up with Saved by the Bell, Weissmann fondly recalls watching reruns with his brother. “Walking onto that set felt surreal,” he states. “Being part of the revival felt like home, and I would have happily appeared in every episode if the show continued.”

Apart from his acting career, Weissmann has also ventured into authorship with his poetry book, Her, Him & I, which he released earlier this year. “I was never a sports enthusiast; instead, I gravitated towards reading and creativity,” he explains. “As a teenager, poetry became my chosen medium to express feelings I struggled to articulate. Moving to L.A. was a culture shock, and writing provided a safe outlet during that period. This book reflects my coming-of-age journey and exploration of identity, making it one of my most cherished accomplishments.”

Currently, Weissmann is channeling his creative energies into his portrayal of Remy. “Working on this show, which pushes boundaries, is incredibly fulfilling. Remy’s narrative dives into themes that are often overlooked,” he reflects. “With the intertwining stories of Remy, Electra, and Will, I find the stakes continually rising. This role provides a unique challenge and ignites my passion for acting in ways I’ve never experienced.”
