Megan Thee Stallion
Demands Contempt Ruling Against Tory Lanez, Claims Disruptive Deposition Behavior
Published April 16, 2025
Megan Thee Stallion is seeking a court’s intervention regarding Tory Lanez, alleging that his behavior during a recent legal deposition was both “disruptive” and “inflamatory,” falling short of the standard expected in civil litigation.
Her attorney has submitted a motion requesting that the judge address why Lanez—whose real name is Daystar Peterson—should not be held in contempt in connection with a civil lawsuit Megan has initiated against Milagro Cooper.
Cooper is described as a blogger, and Megan asserts that she has leveraged her social media platforms to disseminate harmful statements, including defamation, deepfake pornography, and lies about Megan, allegedly at the direction of Lanez.
During his deposition, according to Megan’s legal team, Lanez reportedly feigned ignorance regarding basic terminology, struggling with words like “discuss” and “approve.”
Additionally, the claims include instances where Lanez made derogatory remarks about the appearance of Megan’s attorney, suggesting that her hair dye was “distracting,” and even jokingly requested that she bring a hairbrush for future proceedings.
The lawsuit also references an email from the legal firm representing Lanez in his criminal case appeal, clarifying that they do not represent him in the civil matter and would not contest any motions from Megan’s attorneys requesting contempt findings against him.
Lanez was convicted in 2022 on charges of negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm, following accusations that he shot Megan in the foot. He is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence.
In January, Megan secured a restraining order against Lanez, expressing to a judge that she has experienced ongoing distress since the incident in which she was shot.
Attempts to obtain a response from Lanez regarding the allegations of his deposition conduct have not yet received a reply.
