Megyn Kelly and Blake Lively Stood Together on the Red Carpet – Then Kelly Didn’t Hold Back: ‘Twisted Mean Girl’

At the Time 100 Gala, Megyn Kelly found herself sharing the red carpet with Blake Lively, an actress she has openly criticized for her contentious relationship with director Justin Baldoni regarding the film “It Ends With Us.” Although the two did not interact during the event, Kelly had much to say in the aftermath.

Kelly expressed uncertainty about attending the gala, a celebration honoring Time’s selection of the 100 most influential people, featuring notable figures like Demi Moore, Serena Williams, and Snoop Dogg. She commented on the “lovely” treatment she received from the organizers but was skeptical about their choice of honorees.

“I was unsure whether to participate because I have mixed feelings about large red carpet events, having attended many in the past,” Kelly noted. “With all due respect to Time, I believe their picks do not represent the most influential individuals.”

Reflecting on her earlier experiences, she shared, “The Time team made me feel very welcome, which I appreciate, but the nature of such gatherings doesn’t sit right with me anymore. When I first attended in 2014, I was more naive about it all.”

Kelly found it “embarrassing” to mingle among those who seemed to elevate themselves on an “imaginary power grid,” singling out Lively, who attended the gala alongside her husband Ryan Reynolds and her mother, Elaine. Despite Lively’s film and television success, Kelly dismissed her as “not one of the most influential people in America.”

The host has been vocal in her criticism of Lively’s dispute with Baldoni, which started over creative differences and escalated into allegations of harassment and back-and-forth lawsuits, expected to go to trial next year.

“I knew that if I gave interviews on the red carpet, I’d need to be honest about my views,” Kelly explained. “When the Daily Mail inquired about Lively, I felt compelled to be truthful. It’s unusual to express such candid sentiments on the red carpet, but that’s who I am.”

Despite the controversy, Kelly found relief in voicing her genuine feelings. “It’s quite freeing to speak your mind,” she stated. “I don’t think Lively is treating Baldoni fairly; viewing her at the gala, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there’s something fundamentally off about her. Most of the allegations she made against him have unraveled.”

Kelly suggested that Lively’s ongoing confrontations are attempts to salvage her public reputation. “She has suffered a significant blow,” Kelly remarked. “Her initial aim was to leverage the MeToo movement as a means to elevate her status, but Baldoni countered with a strong legal defense.”
