Meredith Wilson’s Miracle on 34th Street National Tour Set for 2025
The beloved musical adaptation of the classic film, Meredith Wilson’s Miracle on 34th Street, is gearing up for a nationwide tour scheduled to launch in 2025. The production will be directed and choreographed by Antoinette DiPietropolo, produced by Premier Theater Productions, with Creative Booking Agency serving as the booking agent for the tour.
Adapted from the iconic holiday film released on June 4, 1947, at the Roxy Theater in New York City, Wilson’s musical captures the magic and warmth of the original story. The film featured notable performances by actors such as Edmund Gwenn and Maureen O’Hara, solidifying its status as a seasonal favorite.
Miracle on 34th Street The Musical made its Broadway debut on October 3, 1963, under the title “Here’s Love,” at the Shubert Theatre. After two preview performances, it enjoyed a run of 338 performances before concluding on July 25, 1964. This original Broadway production was directed and choreographed by Stuart Ostrow, contributing to its enduring legacy on stage.
The narrative centers around Doris Walker, a single mother who is determined to keep her daughter Susan grounded and shielded from fanciful ideas. However, their neighbor, Fred Gailey, seeks to win Doris over by endearing himself to Susan and introducing her to Santa Claus at Macy’s, where Doris is employed. As the storyline unfolds, it becomes apparent that the Santa Claus at Macy’s may be the real Kris Kringle, sparking a wave of holiday spirit that transforms the hearts of even the most skeptical New Yorkers.
Details regarding casting, specific tour dates, and additional production information will be provided in the future, promising fans an exciting opportunity to experience this cherished holiday tale live on stage.
