Sabalenka Dominates Paolini to Reach Final
Top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka showcased her remarkable skills on Thursday, delivering an impressive display against Jasmine Paolini. With a combination of powerful serves and aggressive groundstrokes, Sabalenka effectively overpowered her opponent.
Throughout the match, Sabalenka maintained a high level of performance, committing few errors. The only notable mishaps were a couple of misjudged overheads and a risky ‘tweener’ shot that lacked the necessary power to challenge Paolini. Overall, Sabalenka secured victory in a swift one hour and 13 minutes.
Expressing her satisfaction post-match, Sabalenka stated, “Super-happy that I was able to give myself another chance, another final, another opportunity to hold a trophy.” She acknowledged Paolini’s formidable talent, recognizing the effort required, saying, “She’s an incredible player so I knew I would have to work for every point.”
Focusing on her strategical play, Sabalenka emphasized the importance of her serve in the match, noting, “I focused on my serve and tried to hit as low as possible because she hits flat. Super-happy with the level I played.”
This victory marks Sabalenka’s fourth final appearance in 2025. Earlier this year, she triumphed in Brisbane before facing setbacks against American Madison Keys at the Australian Open and Russian player Andreeva at Indian Wells two weeks prior.
