About Midge Purce

Midge Purce has established herself as a key player for Gotham FC, a leading women’s soccer team in the New York region, since joining the squad in 2021.

Renowned for her exceptional dribbling skills, passing accuracy, and versatility on the field, the 29-year-old made history as just the second player to assist two goals in an NWSL final, contributing to Gotham FC’s first championship win while earning the MVP title in the 2023 final. Purce has made 112 appearances in the NWSL, scoring 25 goals and providing 10 assists. She holds multiple records for Gotham FC, including the most game-winning goals in a career (10) and the record for the most in a single season (6) in 2021.

As a regular member of the U.S. Women’s National Team over the last four years, Purce has scored five goals and made four assists in 30 games. She played a pivotal role in the team’s victories at the 2022 Concacaf Women’s Championship and the 2024 W Gold Cup, contributing goals in both tournaments and participating in the finals.

Beyond soccer, Purce is a dynamic figure, extending her influence across various areas including fashion, media, and advocacy. Her impact earned her a spot on Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list in 2023. A strong proponent for gender equality in sports, she co-founded the Black Women’s Players Collective, advocating for equitable pay for female athletes. A graduate of Harvard University in 2017, she is also a member of the university’s Board of Overseers.

Purce has also made a name for herself as a media personality, contributing soccer commentary for CBS. She is the creator of “The Offseason,” a popular reality docuseries that showcases the lives of select NWSL players during the off-season. The premiere episode garnered over 2.5 million views on X, previously known as Twitter.

John Proctor Is the Villain

Booth Theatre (Broadway)

Set in a high school in rural Georgia, an English class is studying Arthur Miller’s *The Crucible*. However, the students find themselves more engaged with navigating young relationships, sex education, and various school-related scandals. As they engage with the classic text, they begin to rethink the narrative of John Proctor, questioning whether he truly deserves the title of hero. Led by Sadie Sink from *Stranger Things*, *John Proctor Is the Villain* is a new comedic work from a fresh American voice, capturing a generation at a critical juncture, fueled by optimism, pop culture, and a quest for a future unbound by historical constraints.
