Militarie Gun and Dazy have debuted a new track titled “Tall People Don’t Live Long.” This release marks the second collaborative effort between the Los Angeles hardcore band and Richmond-based musician, building on their previous joint single, “Pressure Cooker,” released in 2022. Fans can view the music video, which was directed and produced by Militarie Gun’s frontman, Ian Shelton, below.
In a press release, Shelton detailed the inspiration behind the song, explaining how it evolved from a lighthearted joke into a deeper discussion about social perceptions. He elaborated, “What started as a joke between us turned into a real conversation about how sometimes people who have reached certain heights in life begin to look down on others. ‘Tall people’ became our tongue-in-cheek term for anyone that’s lost so much perspective that they think it’s alright to make someone feel less-than. This song is about rejecting that attitude—the bigger they are, the harder they fall.”
With “Tall People Don’t Live Long,” Militarie Gun has released their first new music since the early 2024 single “Thought You Were Waving.” The band’s latest album, Life Under the Gun, was unveiled in 2023, while James Goodson, the creative force behind Dazy, released his project Otherbody in the same year.
