In Chill Chat, Bustle engages with notable personalities to explore various aspects of wellness, from everyday routines to effective strategies for better sleep. In this edition, Miranda Kerr discusses her preferred mindfulness exercises, highly sought-after skincare regimen, and the rituals that contribute to her well-being.
For Miranda Kerr, the concept of wellness is intertwined with her professional and personal life. “I have a strong sense of discipline and responsibility,” she shares during our conversation in her suite at Fouquet’s, a chic hotel in Tribeca. Here, the entrepreneur, accomplished supermodel, and mother of four is promoting the latest addition to her luxury skincare brand, Kora Organics.
Exuding confidence and grace, Kerr sits elegantly in a color-block mini skirt and thigh-high stiletto boots. However, it’s her passionate discourse on health and wellness that captivates the room, drawing everyone in with her spirited blue-eyed charm.
Reflecting on her journey, she notes, “We launched Kora Organics in Australia in 2009. My motivation was to create products for my mother and family because I struggled to find anything that was certified organic at that time.” This mission was inspired by her mother’s cancer diagnosis when Kerr was a teenager; since then, her mother has recovered and founded her own organic personal care line, Divine.
Kerr’s commitment to an organic lifestyle goes far beyond the skincare products she develops. From her early career as a Victoria’s Secret Angel to her current role as a self-made businesswoman, she promotes wellness across all facets of her life. With a strong social media presence boasting over 14 million Instagram followers, she shares a variety of content from healthy recipes to self-care tips. “Health is wealth,” she asserts. “It’s essential to discover what works best for you.”
In the following sections, the entrepreneur unveils her insights for achieving a radiant glow both inside and out, highlighting her mindfulness practices, skincare favorites, and even a piece of advice on relationships.
How do you kick off your morning routine?
I start every day using our Turmeric Mask. It feels like experiencing a facial treatment in a tube. I adore the sensory experience of a scrub, and the peppermint oil adds an invigorating touch. It feels like I’m at a day spa during my shower.
I’m a fan of essential oils. Peppermint oil has become my go-to!
I keep peppermint essential oil with me and use it throughout the day on my pulse points for an energy boost.
What does your current fitness routine look like?
I’ve recently been practicing yoga with Patti from Uma Mother. You can find her classes online. We’ve been focusing on personalized sessions to deepen my practice. Patti is also a birth doula; she conducted a special ceremony for me after the birth of my son, and we’ve developed a genuine connection.
What daily wellness practice do you stand by?
Meditation is crucial for me. I began this practice at 18, and combined with yoga, it forms the foundation of my wellness routine. I have a mantra that allows me to practice Transcendental Meditation (TM) independently, but I also enjoy meditating with Patti. When practicing with someone else, the experience feels amplified—like bouncing deeper into one’s soul together. My children also have their own mantras.
Your Kora Organics line emphasizes the ritual in skincare, including positive affirmations on the products. What inspired this addition?
From the beginning, it has been important for me to express my values through the brand. On every product, there’s a positive word, so even during routine skincare, users can feel the benefits. Every thought we have impacts us, and while using these products, you’re also setting intentions. This philosophy has guided my life, and I wanted to share that with others.
Considering your role as a mother and a wife, what relationship advice do you find valuable?
Many women feel the need to do everything themselves. So when your partner asks if you need anything from the store as they head home, don’t hesitate to ask for a carton of milk—even if you already have several at home. Let them feel helpful and involved!
