Monarch Tractor has announced a collaboration with Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) aimed at providing financial savings for the organization’s farmer-owners. Based in Livermore, California, Monarch Tractor specializes in the creation of electric, autonomous, and data-driven off-road vehicles targeted at the compact and specialty tractor sectors. The partnership underscores Monarch’s dedication to cooperating with significant stakeholders in the dairy industry.

DFA, headquartered in Kansas City, Kansas, comprises nearly 9,500 family-run dairy farms across the United States. The inclusion of Monarch Tractor in DFA’s preferred vendor list within its Members Savings Network will afford farmers more affordable access to essential dairy machinery, potentially alleviating labor shortages, mitigating input costs, and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, as highlighted by Monarch Tractor.

The dairy farming community has a longstanding tradition of adopting agricultural technology and innovation. Monarch noted that investments in energy-efficient equipment and automation have contributed to reduced labor needs while enhancing operational productivity.

Monarch Tractor’s Electric, Self-Driving Technology

The MK-V Dairy tractor, which operates solely on electric power, is touted to save dairy producers significant amounts annually on diesel expenses while completely removing greenhouse gas emissions associated with feed-pushing tasks. Additionally, this innovative tractor can act as a mobile energy source, allowing farmers to transport stored electricity to various farm locations and serve as a quiet, clean generator for tools and machinery.

As the creator of the MK-V Dairy tractor, Monarch claims that it has the capability to drive increased milk production and enhance labor efficiency, while also supporting data-informed decision-making for dairy operators.

“We’re excited to introduce Monarch’s pioneering technology to DFA’s farmer-owners,” stated Praveen Penmetsa, the co-founder and CEO of Monarch Tractor. “Establishing industry partnerships is integral to our farmer-centric philosophy, and our MK-V Dairy tractor is ideally aligned with DFA’s goal of enhancing operational efficiency and profitability for farmers.”

In June 2024, Monarch Tractor raised $133 million in Series C funding, which will be utilized to expand its sales and support teams, as well as to further its ongoing innovations according to its product roadmap.

DFA’s Focus on Accessibility and Sustainability

DFA’s commitment to sustainability and responsible farming reinforces the notion that its partnership with Monarch Tractor will foster sustainability in dairy farming and support rural communities. Through its Farm Services division, the organization aims to link farms with valuable energy efficiency initiatives and resources.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Monarch Tractor to provide their advanced MK-V Dairy tractor to our farmer-owners,” stated Kaitlyn Cherny, energy program manager at DFA.

“This partnership not only facilitates significant cost savings but also empowers our farmers to make better use of labor resources and boost productivity,” she added. “At Dairy Farmers of America, our mission is to offer innovative tools that enhance efficiency and sustainability for our members.”

Monarch Tractor emphasized that the connectivity of its systems could enhance data-driven decision-making and assist farmers in generating detailed reports about the tractor’s performance and savings. It is noted that the MK-V Dairy tractor, as a digital platform, is designed for continual improvement through software and firmware updates post-purchase.
