After an extensive search, the remains of Morgan Harris have been discovered in the Prairie Green Landfill. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced that two sets of human remains were located in the landfill last month, with one confirmed to belong to Harris.
This significant development follows a challenging three-month search, which the previous provincial administration had deemed too intricate. In a heartfelt post on social media, Cambria Harris, Morgan’s daughter, expressed her mixed emotions, stating, “It’s a bittersweet moment. I believe both our families will bring our loved ones home.”
This same sentiment resonates with the family of Marcedes Myran, another victim believed to be among the remains in the landfill, as well as a third unidentified body known to community elders as Buffalo Woman.
The search for these women resumed after the remains of Rebecca Contois, a fourth victim, were discovered in a dumpster close to the residence of convicted killer Jeremy Skibicki and at a different Winnipeg landfill in 2022.

Skibicki was sentenced to life imprisonment in July 2024 after being found guilty on four counts of first-degree murder. As investigators continue their efforts, they are focused on determining the identity of the second set of remains found, which may belong to Marcedes Myran or the unidentified Buffalo Woman.
The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs issued a statement emphasizing the distressing nature of the searches, remarking, “No family should have to search in this way, yet their loved ones stood firm in their truth and refused to be silenced.”
