A tragic plane crash involving a Learjet linked to Mötley Crüe’s lead singer, Vince Neil, has taken place in Scottsdale, Arizona. The incident occurred on February 10, around 2:45 PM, when a Bombardier Learjet 35A, arriving from Austin, Texas, lost control upon landing at Scottsdale Municipal Airport. The jet veered off the runway and collided with a nearby parked Gulfstream G-200 business jet situated on private property. This devastating event resulted in one fatality and left four individuals with injuries.
According to Scottsdale Fire Captain Dave Folio, preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was due to problems with the landing gear. The findings are still under review, and investigations are ongoing.
Gus Toulatos, Director of Operations at Jet Pros, which manages the Gulfstream jet, confirmed in a statement that there were no injuries to anyone aboard their aircraft, although it sustained significant exterior damage. He assured that they are collaborating fully with airport authorities and other relevant agencies conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
“We are cooperating fully with airport authorities and relevant agencies as they conduct a thorough review of the situation,” said Toulatos. “We appreciate the swift response of airport personnel and will provide updates as more information becomes available.”
Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky addressed the media following the crash, confirming key details about the incident and the status of the airport, which remained closed to ongoing operations. “We are closely monitoring the situation, and we are in touch with airport, police, and federal agencies and will update the community as we have further information,” she stated. Her remarks included heartfelt condolences to those affected: “On behalf of the city of Scottsdale, we offer our deepest condolences to those involved in the accident and for those who have been taken to our trauma center for treatment. We will keep all affected by this tragedy in our prayers.”
As reported by Nashville’s NewsChannel 5 (WTVF), the Bomabrdier Learjet 35A is registered to a company called Chromed in Hollywood, based in Franklin, Tennessee, with Neil recognized as a principal agent for the aircraft. Further details from TMZ confirmed that Neil was not present on the plane during the incident. Mötley Crüe’s management is reportedly assessing ways to assist those directly impacted by the tragic event.
