Mouni Roy is preparing for the debut of her new film, The Bhootnii, where she shares the screen with the veteran actor Sanjay Dutt. In a recent discussion, she expressed her admiration for him, highlighting his nurturing attitude while filming. Despite his extensive background in the industry, Mouni mentioned that Sanjay never created any sense of intimidation, opting instead to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere conducive to collaboration.
“I’m a colossal admirer of Sanjay Sir. Honestly, who wouldn’t be? He is incredibly experienced, yet he never flaunted that during shoots. He was consistently available to mentor us, impart his wisdom, and share his journey,” Mouni relayed in an interview with IANS.
“Initially, I felt a natural intimidation being around someone of his caliber, but he was always supportive and made himself accessible to everyone,” she continued.
The Bhootnii marks the first on-screen collaboration between Mouni and Sanjay, garnering attention for its unique mix of thriller and comedy revolving around the character Mohabbat, a ghost pursued by Baba, a ghost hunter.
In addition to Mouni and Sanjay, the film features Sunny Singh, Palak Tiwari, Beyounick, and Aasif Khan in key roles.
Sanjay Dutt also shared insights regarding his experience working alongside newer talents in the industry, noting the significant shifts that have occurred over the years. He remarked on the advantages available to today’s actors that previous generations lacked.
“The young actors in this project are all immensely skilled, chosen for their strong audition performances. There are vast differences between the past and present. Nowadays, stars receive a complete script well ahead of filming, which changes the preparation process significantly,” he explained to IANS.
He reflected, “In our time, we didn’t have such conveniences. Today’s environment in the industry functions quite differently. Actors benefit from amenities like comfortable vanity vans and support teams attending to their needs, which was not the case before.”
The Bhootnii is brought to audiences by Zee Studios, Soham Rockstar Entertainment, and Three Dimension Motion Pictures. It is produced by Deepak Mukut and Sanjay Dutt, with Hunar Mukut and Maanayata Dutt serving as co-producers.
Initially set for an April 18 release, the film is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 1.
