One individual has lost their life and eleven others have sustained injuries following a shooting incident that occurred in a bustling tourist area of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Saturday night. The local police reported that the violence erupted shortly before midnight in the popular entertainment district of the city.

Tragically, the individual involved in the altercation shot by the officer has since died from their injuries. The Horry County Deputy Coroner identified the victim as 18-year-old Jerrius Davis from Bennettsville.
The responding officer was unharmed in the incident. Myrtle Beach Mayor Brenda Bethune praised the officer’s quick actions, stating that the response played a crucial role in preventing a more devastating outcome. “Our officer saw what happened, and when he recognized that an altercation was occurring and shots were fired, he responded very quickly and, in my opinion, saved lives,” she remarked. “Last night could have been so much worse.”
