Nawazuddin Siddiqui shares first look from Adbhut

His last appearance was in Rautu Ka Raaz, a digital release that garnered audience appreciation.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film, Adbhut. He has unveiled an engaging poster and announced that the film’s trailer will drop tomorrow, August 24. Adbhut is poised to be a mystery thriller that combines suspense with intricate plot developments. Siddiqui’s previous work, Rautu Ka Raaz, was well received on digital platforms, showcasing his ability to captivate audiences.

On his Instagram, Nawazuddin shared the poster in which he dons a coat, flaunting long hair, and wielding a magnifying glass, hinting at the investigative themes of the film. In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, the actor opened up about his personal battles with colorism and societal biases. He spoke candidly about the negative comments regarding his looks that have plagued him throughout his life, noting that these sentiments have begun to take root in his own self-perception. Nonetheless, he expressed gratitude for the respect and varied roles he has been afforded in the film industry, recognizing that many like him face such discrimination but appreciating the chances he has received in Bollywood.

Reflecting on the prejudice he faces, he stated, “Pata nahi shakalo se humari nafrat kyun hai kuch logon ko. Kyunki shakal hee aisi hai – itne badsurat hai humlog. Humein bhi lagta hai jab apne aap ko aaine mein dekhte hai. Hum bhi bolte hai apne aap ko ‘kyun aa gaye film industry mein itne gande shakal leke?’” (I don’t know why some people dislike our appearance. Maybe it’s because we are considered ugly. I feel that way too when I look in the mirror, often questioning why I entered the film industry with such looks).

The acclaimed actor, known for his role in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur, also reminisced about the overwhelming love he received for the film. “For five months post-release, I would meet people who told me they watched it 25 to 30 times. At first, I thought they were joking. For years, I believed they were just making fun of me. It took me a while to realize that the movie had truly resonated with audiences and had achieved a significant status!”
