NCT’s Jaehyun Prepares for Military Service with a Touching Message to Fans

Jaehyun, a prominent member of the K-pop group NCT, is poised to commence his mandatory military service, with reports confirming that he will enlist on November 4. The 27-year-old idol is set to join the military band after completing his basic training, with expected discharge slated for May 2026.

In light of his impending enlistment, Jaehyun took to the Bubble app to convey a heartfelt message to his fans, also known as NCTzens. He opened his note with the familiar greeting, “Have you been well?” acknowledging that his military enlistment may come as a surprise but reassured fans that they still have some time together.

The singer expressed his deep appreciation for the experiences he has gained through his career, stating, “If it weren’t for this job, I would have never been able to experience the precious memories with fans, our precious relationship, and the size of love.” His gratitude reflects his close bond with supporters, adding depth to his emotional farewell.

Jaehyun further stated, “Although I say that I will be back quickly and wait just a little bit, I will surely miss you all. I will return back healthily, so I hope you all are well and healthy while I am gone.” He emphasized that he would treasure their memories and look forward to the future, encapsulating the spirit of resilience and hope that his fans have come to admire.

On September 26, SM Entertainment, the agency representing NCT, confirmed Jaehyun’s enlistment announcement, noting that he has specifically applied to serve in a military band. This news comes shortly after his fellow NCT member Taeyong began his own military service in April 2024. SM Entertainment stated, “Jaehyun received his notice of acceptance from the Military Manpower Administration, and therefore, he will join the military on November 4 to fulfill his mandatory service.”

The agency also specified that there will be no formal event on Jaehyun’s enlistment day to ensure the safety of soldiers and their families at the drop-off location. They requested fans to support him as he embarks on this significant chapter of his life and to await his healthy return.

In addition to his military preparations, Jaehyun recently made waves in the music industry with the release of his solo studio album, titled J, in August. This achievement marks him as the fourth member of NCT to launch a solo project, showcasing his growth and versatility as an artist.
