Neha Kakkar Posts Cryptic Message Amid Melbourne Concert Controversy
Neha Kakkar has recently attracted significant media attention following her concert in Melbourne, where she faced backlash for arriving three hours late, leading to a public outcry. Compounding the situation, the organizers of the event, Beats Production, claimed that Kakkar’s tardiness resulted in a financial loss of approximately Rs 4.52 crore for them. In the midst of this turmoil, the singer decided to take to her Instagram account, sharing a cryptic post that resonated with her followers.
On the occasion of Gudi Padwa on March 30, 2025, Kakkar posted images of herself dressed in an elegant pink salwar suit, seated in her home’s mandir area. Her caption read, “She’s Blessed Because There’s always Maa Goddess behind her!! Happy Navratri Everyone!” hinting at her seeking spiritual support during a difficult time.
The unfolding events around her Melbourne performance have caused quite a stir. Kakkar’s late arrival did not sit well with the audience, many of whom voiced their dissatisfaction by booing her and calling for her departure from the stage. Footage capturing her emotional breakdown and apology to the crowd quickly circulated online, amplifying the situation.
In response to the uproar, Kakkar issued a statement attributing the chaos to the event organizers, who, according to her, failed to fulfill their financial obligations. She expressed her frustration over her band being deprived of basic needs such as food and accommodations, stating that her husband and his team had to intervene to provide assistance. Despite these challenges, Kakkar emphasized that they chose to proceed with the performance for the fans who had been waiting.
Kakkar disclosed, “Do you all know that I performed absolutely free for my Melbourne audience? The organisers ran away with my money and others too. My band was not even given food, hotel and even water. My husband and his boys went and provided them food. In spite of all of this, we still went on stage and did the show without any rest or anything because my fans were waiting for hours.”
In stark contrast, the show organizers released a comprehensive expense report detailing the concerts in both Sydney and Melbourne, arguing that Kakkar’s alleged unprofessional behavior led to significant losses on their part. Notably, they claimed that she was banned from performing at the Margaret Court Arena as well as being prohibited from Crown Towers in both cities due to her allegedly smoking in the artist area, which is against Australian regulations.
During a Facebook Live session on March 28, the organizers refuted Kakkar’s claims regarding the lack of food and accommodations, asserting that all arrangements had been properly made. They even shared a video on Instagram showing Kakkar’s arrival at the airport and her transportation to her accommodation, showcasing the measures taken for her convenience.
“The allegations are completely false. We are in big debt after the show. She should be the one paying us… it was a mistake having her on board,” the organizers stated, highlighting the financial burden they claim to bear post-concert.
As the situation develops, it has been reported that Kakkar performed for roughly one hour during the Melbourne concert, raising further questions about the event’s management and execution.
