Following the recent provincial election, British Columbia welcomes two newly elected members of the Green Party into its legislature. Despite losing her re-election bid in Victoria, BC Green Party Leader Sonia Furstenau will continue to lead, with support from notable figures like federal Green Leader Elizabeth May, who attended the ceremony. May expressed her enthusiasm for the election of Valeriote, noting it as a crucial step for the party in establishing a presence beyond Vancouver Island. “It’s a very encouraging day. It means a lot,” said May, highlighting the significance of having representation from different regions.
