NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — LaToya Cantrell, the Mayor of New Orleans, is embarking on a trip to Mexico City to attend the Bloomberg CityLab 2024 summit.
This international summit will see Cantrell alongside other mayors from various global cities, as they come together to explore innovative solutions to modern urban issues.
Key discussions are expected to center around significant challenges that urban areas encounter today, including those related to climate resilience, infrastructure improvements, and the adoption of technological advancements. The summit aims to foster collaboration and share best practices among city leaders.
In addition to her participation in the general sessions, Cantrell will engage in a specialized “mayors-only forum,” where local leaders can candidly discuss pressing city-related matters with their counterparts.
The mayor departed from New Orleans on October 13 and plans to visit local high schools and universities upon her return, reinforcing her commitment to engaging with the community.
