In just under two weeks, Abdul Carter is poised to have his name called by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell during the draft event taking place in Green Bay.
The former standout from Penn State is anticipated to be among the first five players selected in next Thursday’s NFL Draft.
Although the spotlight has primarily been on quarterbacks in the lead-up to the draft, many analysts consider Carter one of the premier prospects in this year’s pool.
In a recent conversation with SiriusXM NFL Radio, Carter shared insights about his admiration for other players in the league.

When asked to draw comparisons between himself and NFL players, Carter highlighted Micah Parsons, another Penn State alumnus known for his prowess as a pass rusher.
“Of course, Micah Parsons,” Carter noted when the comparison was made. “Having gone to Penn State and wearing No. 11, I see a lot of similarities between his game and mine.”

Furthermore, Carter expressed a particular fondness for Von Miller as a player he looks up to the most.
“Additionally, my favorite player has to be Von Miller. The way he performed in crucial moments is something I admire greatly,” Carter stated during his interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio.
Miller, who recently parted ways with the Buffalo Bills, has been a prominent figure in the NFL. The decision to release him was a strategic move by the Bills to save on salary cap space. His impressive career includes 129 sacks, placing him 16th on the NFL’s all-time sack list.
Before his recent release, the celebrated pass rusher had signed a six-year contract worth $120 million in 2022. Unfortunately, his last season was marred by an ACL injury sustained on November 24, 2022.
Carter accumulated 23 sacks throughout his three-year tenure with the Nittany Lions and earned the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year award following a standout 2024 season.

Despite wrestling with a shoulder injury during the College Football Playoff, it has come to light that Carter is currently managing a stress reaction in his foot. Fortunately, sources indicate that he is not expected to require surgical intervention for the condition, as ESPN reported.
The NFL Draft is set to commence on April 24.
