Melissa Rauch to Reunite with Simon Helberg in “Night Court” Finale

Melissa Rauch, known for her role in “Night Court,” is set to share the screen once again with Simon Helberg, her co-star from “The Big Bang Theory.” Helberg will make a guest appearance during the Season 3 finale of the NBC comedy, scheduled to air on May 6 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.

This finale episode will revolve around Abby (played by Rauch) as she takes charge of a group of runaway teens who are keen on getting married. Meanwhile, characters Dan (John Larroquette) and Julianne (Wendie Malick) grapple with the unexpected reality of their blossoming friendship. The plot thickens with the arrival of a mysterious stranger who is poised to disrupt Abby’s world.

Helberg’s cameo is being described as “game-changing,” promising to add significant tension to Abby’s narrative. Additionally, Raegan Revord from “Young Sheldon” will portray Shelby, one of the teenage runaways, portraying a love-struck character eager to wed her soulmate. This storyline draws inspiration from a memorable episode featuring Michael J. Fox in the classic “Night Court” series.

Helberg gained fame for his portrayal of Howard Wolowitz on CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory,” which ran from 2007 to 2019. His performance earned him a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Wolowitz had a romantic arc with Rauch’s character, Bernadette, who made her first appearance in the third season of their previous show.

In addition to his successful television career, Helberg received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film “Florence Foster Jenkins.” He is also slated to return for Season 2 of Peacock’s “Poker Face,” alongside Natasha Lyonne, and is currently involved in the production of “The Audacity,” directed by Jonathan Glatzer, which stars Billy Magnussen and Zach Galifianakis.

Raegan Revord, known for her portrayal of Missy Cooper, Sheldon’s twin sister in “Young Sheldon,” is another talented actor featured in the episode. Her previous roles include appearances in “Modern Family” and “Grace and Frankie,” showcasing her versatility in both significant and supporting roles.

In terms of representation, Helberg is managed by UTA, Range Media Partners, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher, while Revord is represented by Innovative Artists, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, as well as Felker, Toczek, Suddleson, McGinnis & Ryan.

Furthermore, Marsha Warfield will reprise her role as Roz in the initial part of a two-episode arc that airs at 8 p.m. ET. Additional guest appearances will feature actors Michael Urie and Ryan Hansen, contributing to the episode’s eclectic mix of talent.

“Night Court” is produced by Warner Bros. Television in collaboration with After January Productions and Universal Television, with an executive production team that includes Rauch, showrunner Dan Rubin, Winston Rauch, Larroquette, Mat Harawitz, Lon Zimmet, Lindsey Shockley, and Mona Garcea.
