Prospect Musicals Celebrates 25 Years with Star-Studded Gala
Prospect Musicals has announced an exciting lineup for its 25th Anniversary Gala, which is set to take place on Monday, September 30th, at The Edison Ballroom. This milestone event will feature prominent presenters including Tony Award winner Nikki M. James, known for her roles in Suffs and The Book of Mormon, alongside Princeton Triangle Club alumna Michelle McGorty and Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez from A Chorus Line.
Highlighting the evening will be special performances from a talented array of artists, including Tony Award nominee Stephen Bogardus from Falsettos, the trio Bandits on the Run (featuring Adrian Blake Enscoe, Sydney Torin Shepherd, and Regina Strayhorn), Ali Ewoldt from The Phantom of the Opera, Diane Phelan of Into the Woods, Jelani Remy from Back to the Future, and Helen J Shen from Maybe Happy Ending, among others.
The Gala will also honor three exceptional figures in the theatre industry with the prestigious Muse Awards. This year’s honorees include Tony Award-winning director and actor Michael Arden, known for his work in Parade and Maybe Happy Ending, arts advocate and author Kendall Crolius, and Tony Award recipient Baayork Lee, celebrated for her role in A Chorus Line.
Capping off the evening, Drama Desk Award winner Jay Armstrong Johnson, recognized for his performances in Parade and The Phantom of the Opera, will co-host the event alongside Jaygee Macapugay, known for her roles in Suffs and Here Lies Love. Additional performers scheduled to appear include LaDonna Burns, Kimberley Chatterjee, Steven Eng, Tymothee Harrell, Devin Ilaw, Charlotte Kunesh, Gaea Lawton, Asher Muldoon, and Jasmine Sharma.
The 25th Anniversary Gala not only commemorates Prospect Musicals’ rich history of developing and producing original musical theatre but also celebrates its recent rebranding from Prospect Theater Company to Prospect Musicals. Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with cocktails, dinner, and engaging performances, all honoring this year’s Muse Award recipients.
The Gala Committee Co-Chairs include Jane Abramson, Tira Harpaz, and Jason Ma, who have all played a significant role in organizing this spectacular event.
