CMF by Nothing Launches Phone Pro 2 and New Earbuds

CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, has unveiled a range of new products, highlighted by the upgraded flagship smartphone, the Phone Pro 2. This latest model promises enhancements in multiple key areas compared to its predecessor.

The company has positioned the Phone Pro 2 as its lightest and thinnest smartphone ever, measuring just 7.8mm in thickness and weighing 6.5 ounces. While this distinction is noteworthy, comparisons reveal that competing models, such as the iPhone 16, weigh slightly less at six ounces.

Powering the device is the sixth-generation MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor, which features an 8-core CPU capable of reaching clock speeds of up to 2.5GHz. This upgrade is expected to enhance both processing capabilities and graphics performance significantly compared to the CMF Phone 1. Additionally, the battery life is touted as impressive, with claims of lasting up to two days on a single charge.

The smartphone boasts a 6.77-inch FHD+ AMOLED display alongside a versatile four-camera setup that includes a 50MP main camera, a telephoto lens, an ultra-wide lens, and a front-facing selfie camera. Users will also benefit from a modular camera system, allowing them to attach additional lenses such as fisheye and macro options.

The Phone Pro 2’s design is as varied as its functionality, available in four different colors, each presenting unique stylistic features. The black and light green variants showcase a frosted glass effect bordered by a metallic frame, while the orange model shines with a metallic finish. The white variant is distinguished by its paneled sandstone texture on the back.

Importantly, this smartphone is positioned as a budget-friendly option, with the 256GB model priced at a mere $279. However, availability in the U.S. may be limited, as preorders began today, with shipments expected on May 6. Initially, the device will only be accessible to participants in the company’s beta program.

Alongside the smartphone, CMF by Nothing introduced its latest earbuds, although these products will not be available for purchase in the U.S. initially. The CMF Buds 2 offer standard entry-level features, including active noise cancellation (ANC) and technology that simulates spatial audio, retailing for approximately $50.

For those seeking advanced features, the CMF Buds 2 Plus incorporates high-resolution LDAC and an EQ system, priced around $65. Additionally, the budget-friendly CMF Buds 2a also includes ANC, with a cost of about $38. All earbud models are set to be available starting May 6.
