According to the Official Charts Company, Rodrigo has secured a place on the list of the top-selling vinyl singles in the U.K. over the past decade, appearing at No. 25 with her cover of “Stick Season,” which originally by Noah Kahan. This rendition gained considerable traction despite not being released as a conventional single, showcasing her ability to connect with audiences in unique ways.
Her performance, recorded for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge in October 2023, took place in a rather unconventional setting—a cemetery in Hollywood, California. This choice of location, along with a video that has amassed nearly 13 million views thus far, contributed to the song’s impressive vinyl sales.
Interestingly, Kahan’s original version of “Stick Season” also made the vinyl charts, landing at No. 13, slightly ahead of Rodrigo’s cover. However, Rodrigo’s own tracks have not yet appeared on the list of the 40 bestselling vinyl singles from the past decade in the U.K., a notable omission considering her hits like “Drivers License,” “Good 4 U,” and “Vampire.”
In addition to her achievements in the singles category, the Official Charts Company recently released data on the bestselling vinyl albums from the last ten years. Rodrigo features prominently there as well, with both of her studio albums, Sour and Guts, ranking closely together. Guts stands at No. 28, while Sour follows closely at No. 29.
This ranking was part of a celebration marking a decade of the Official Vinyl Singles and Albums charts in the U.K.; a format that many believed was fading into obscurity has experienced a remarkable revival. This resurgence is largely driven by younger audiences who are increasingly drawn to the physicality and artistry of vinyl, along with artists like Rodrigo who capture their attention.
