Hachette Book Group Expands Its Horizons with New Horror Imprint
In an exciting development for fans of the genre, the Orbit division of Hachette Book Group has introduced a new horror imprint titled Run for It. This launch marks the fourth imprint under Orbit, which remains well-regarded for its focus on speculative fiction and its diverse range of genres.
Run for It will feature existing horror authors such as Craig DiLouie and Andy Marino, with strategic plans to include additional talent in the future. The initial lineup is expected to debut in the summer of 2025, marking a significant addition to Orbit’s publishing repertoire.
At the helm of this new imprint will be Bradley Englert, Orbit’s executive editor and the principal acquiring editor for horror. Englert’s expertise will guide the direction of Run for It, while Tim Holman, the president and publisher of Orbit, will oversee the imprint alongside the broader division.
Tim Holman expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, “We’ve been steadily increasing the number of horror titles we publish each year, and with so many exciting developments within the horror genre in recent years, it seemed like the perfect time to launch a dedicated imprint.”
The inception of Run for It follows Holman’s recent ascension to the role of president and publisher, a position he has taken on following a notable track record with Orbit since its launch in 2007. Under his leadership, the imprint has flourished, as demonstrated by its impressive growth trajectory.
In light of Holman’s promotion, HBG CEO David Shelley remarked on the current success of Orbit, highlighting that it is “having its most successful period ever, which follows two successive record-breaking years.” This momentum suggests a bright future for Run for It and its contributions to the vibrant landscape of horror literature.
