A fresh update has been implemented in Overwatch 2, introducing some notable adjustments to four heroes.
Interestingly, all the modifications in this patch are classified as nerfs. This update affects one tank, two damage dealers, and one support character, with changes that are expected to reduce their effectiveness in the ongoing season 12 and beyond.
Below are the details concerning the alterations featured in the OW2 update released on September 3, 2024.
OW2 patch notes today: Major nerfs announced
Winston has seen a decrease in his Tesla Cannon primary fire damage per second, dropping from 75 to 70. He is not the only character facing adjustments in this latest minor update for OW2.
Ashe received a significant nerf as well, with her reload time extended by 0.05 seconds per bullet and a reduction in her primary fire damage from 40 to 35. Similarly, Sombra experienced a decline in her Virus ability’s damage over time, moving from 90 down to 75.
The last set of adjustments impacts Juno, who experienced multiple changes to her Mediblaster. The SMG’s fire rate has been augmented from 14.3 to 15.5, while both its damage and healing outputs have been slightly lowered from eight to 7.5 and seven to 6.5, respectively.
This update also addresses a variety of minor bugs, such as those leading to significant frame rate drops at both the start and conclusion of matches on PS5, as well as issues causing incorrect rank displays for badges and emblems.
Notably, Blizzard refrained from providing any explanations regarding the rationale behind the changes in the patch notes. It appears the updates were a direct response to player feedback, with the development team committed to continuously surveilling the game’s meta in the coming days and weeks.
