Padma Bhushan Ajith Kumar offered prayers for families affected by the Pahalgam terror attack after receiving India’s third-highest civilian award.

Ajith Kumar, a prominent figure in Indian cinema, received the esteemed Padma Bhushan award on April 28, 2025, during a ceremony in Delhi. Known for his dedication and down-to-earth personality, Kumar expressed profound joy upon receiving the award from President Droupadi Murmu, with his wife Shalini and their children by his side to witness this significant achievement.

In the aftermath of the ceremony, Ajith Kumar took a moment to reflect on the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, claiming the lives of 26 tourists in the picturesque Baisaran Valley, often referred to as Mini Switzerland. This heartbreaking event reverberated throughout the nation, leaving many in mourning.

Speaking to ANI shortly after the awards event, Kumar vehemently condemned the attack, extending his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families. He stated, “My heart goes out to all the families, and I hope and pray that such things don’t happen. I’m sure the government is doing the best that they can. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and pray that somewhere over a period of time, we all learn to empathise with one another and then keep all our differences aside and live as a peaceful society.”

Furthermore, Ajith Kumar honored the Indian armed forces, acknowledging their relentless dedication to safeguarding the nation. He emphasized, “I met a lot of people from the armed forces today. I want to let them all know that we salute them for their sacrifices. They work very hard so that we are able to sleep peacefully. My heart goes out to them, and I wish them and their families a beautiful life. They’re working so tirelessly to safeguard our borders, and I think at least in their honour we should, within our country, learn to respect each other and respect every religion, every caste and let’s not fight at least within ourselves in India. Let us be one peaceful society.”

On the entertainment front, Ajith Kumar was recently featured in the film *Good Bad Ugly*, which garnered positive responses at the box office. The movie showcased a star-studded cast, including notable actors such as Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Jackie Shroff, Sunil, and Yogi Babu.
