On Saturday afternoon, the Palm Springs Police Department issued a warning for residents to avoid the area surrounding S Calle El Segundo and Saturino Road for approximately two hours.
At around 1:41 p.m., the police urged individuals nearby to stay indoors via their social media accounts.
Chief Andy Mills emphasized the importance of sheltering in place as officers addressed an ongoing incident. He further advised those not currently in the vicinity to refrain from approaching the location.
By 3:30 p.m., law enforcement communicated through email that police operations had wrapped up in the area. However, they did not provide an immediate response to inquiries for further details.
Local resident Brian Volz reported witnessing a police search of a white vehicle outside the Village Traditions housing complex around 2:40 p.m., located near Baristo Park and Saturino Road. Volz noted that the vehicle was absent when he arrived home at 1 p.m., and earlier in the day, a police officer had knocked on doors in the neighborhood, advising residents to stay indoors.
