Attorney General Warns Over Comments on Tesla
Attorney General Pam Bondi has issued a caution to Representative Jasmine Crockett of Texas, urging her to “tread very carefully” after Crockett made controversial remarks regarding Elon Musk. This warning follows Crockett’s comments during a call associated with the Tesla Takedown movement, which aims to pressure Tesla owners to divest from the company.
In a segment on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Bondi stated, “As an elected public official, she needs to tread very carefully because nothing will happen to Elon Musk, and we are going to fight to protect all the Tesla owners throughout this country.” Her remarks came in response to an uptick in violence targeting Tesla vehicles and dealerships, which have reportedly faced arson, vandalism, and other forms of aggression across at least nine states.

During a recent conference in Washington, Bondi reaffirmed her commitment to countering violence against Tesla’s customers and businesses. In the wake of several incidents where electric vehicles have been damaged or set ablaze, she promised that this trend would “come to a stop.”
Crockett’s remarks drew significant attention during a nationwide gathering of the Tesla Takedown movement, which labels itself as a “peaceful protest platform” advocating for individuals to sell their Tesla vehicles and withdraw their financial support from the company. “On March 29, it’s my birthday,” Crockett mentioned, highlighting an upcoming “Global Day of Action” aimed at creating pressure on the electric vehicle manufacturer. She expressed a desire for Musk to face repercussions on her birthday, emphasizing, “I have learned, as I serve on the DOGE Oversight committee, that there is only one language that the people that are in charge understand right now, and that language is money.”

While Crockett sought to clarify her position as nonviolent, asserting that her campaign is about “fighting” for democracy rather than promoting aggression, critics have accused her of potentially inciting unrest against Tesla. She stated, “We know that we are peaceful, loving people, and this is not about violence.”
In response to the current climate of hostility towards Tesla and its customers, the Justice Department has initiated measures against individuals responsible for damaging Tesla vehicles and charging stations. Those apprehended could face serious penalties, including up to 20 years in prison, under charges of “domestic terrorism.” Bondi emphasized, “People need to know that the three people in custody right now will receive severe and swift consequences… This is domestic terrorism.”
