Paris Paloma has recently made her mark on the U.S. television scene with her performance of “Labour” on The Late Show. This marks the first time the artist has graced American TV, and she was joined by the Resistance Revival Chorus for the occasion.

In a powerful presentation of her single, Paloma paid tribute to feminist art through a recreated version of the renowned installation, The Dinner Party. The choreography depicted the rich history of the women’s rights movement, enhancing the song’s message.

“Labour,” which debuted last year as part of her first album, Cacophony, addresses the complexities of female empowerment. In her lyrics, she poignantly critiques the societal expectations placed on women, singing, “All day, every day, therapist, mother, maid/ Nymph then virgin, nurse then a servant/ Just an appendage, live to attend him/ So that he never lifts a finger/ 24/7 baby machine/ So he can live out his picket fence dreams/ It’s not an act of love if you make her/ You make me do too much labour.”

The single has resonated widely, gaining traction on social media, particularly TikTok, where it has been featured in countless videos, including those by KamalaHQ, advocating for reproductive rights.

Currently, Paloma is on tour in North America to promote Cacophony, with shows scheduled through March. Fans can also look forward to her return to Europe for performances in cities like Manchester, London, Dublin, and Amsterdam in June.
