Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward’s Beverly Hills Home Now Available for Rent
A stunning Colonial Revival-style residence in Beverly Hills, once home to Hollywood legends Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, is on the rental market for $45,000 per month. According to New York Post, the couple, stars of the classic film Long, Hot Summer, resided in this property during the early 1960s. Their time in the home was notably captured by the New York Daily News, featuring iconic images of the pair enjoying the 4,300-square-foot space in 1962.
The property, initially expected to be listed for around $8 million in December of the previous year, remains in the possession of its current owner, photographer Taylor Anne Crichton, who is the daughter of Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton. Crichton purchased the home for $7.35 million in 2021, and it appears she is opting to keep it for the time being.
Guests arriving at the estate are greeted by a red brick-paved driveway that winds past a bocce ball court and lush gardens filled with citrus trees, leading to the striking white structure set on a generous 1.2-acre lot near Mulholland Drive. Inside, the living space boasts rich dark wood floors and a cozy black wood-burning fireplace. A spacious blue-and-white kitchen, strategically positioned in a corner of the house, features a walk-in pantry complete with wine storage.
This elegant residence includes four bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, and two of these rooms come with private balconies. The primary suite is particularly impressive, offering a windowed dressing area lined with mirrored wardrobes.
Outside, the home features a cabana-shaded patio that previously housed an open-air gym. The property is enhanced by beautiful European-style gardens interspersed with walking paths, outdoor dining areas, a swimming pool and spa overseen by tiered gardens, and a romantic loggia equipped with a barbecue station, a swing sofa, and a charming ivy-covered stone fireplace. Additional standout features of the house include vaulted ceilings, bespoke wooden built-ins, and a quiet office nook.
