Pastor Confronted by Activist Brandishing Gun During Street Preaching
In a startling incident captured on video, Kevin Kihara, a 37-year-old pastor from Christian Forgiveness Ministries in San Francisco, faced an activist who appeared to point a firearm at him while he was preaching against transgender ideology in Santa Ana. The event unfolded on a California sidewalk where Kihara was promoting his views on gender identity when the activist approached him aggressively.
Kihara, speaking into a microphone, passionately proclaimed, “He didn’t make a man to be a woman; he made the man to be a man.” He continued, emphasizing the distinction between genders with his unwavering message: “He didn’t make the woman to be man; he made the woman to be a woman, and this is the truth!”
As Kihara delivered his message, the activist, dressed in denim overalls and a striped T-shirt, advanced toward him, reportedly pulling what appeared to be a large handgun. Despite the dire situation, Kihara responded calmly, stating, “What are you going to come attack me now?”
The encounter escalated when the activist pointed the weapon directly at Kihara’s face, to which the pastor replied, “Hey man, it’s up to you if you want to pull that on me. God bless you.” Following this exchange, the activist backed off, threatening Kihara verbally before departing the scene.
Undeterred by the confrontation, Kihara resumed his preaching, addressing the situation directly: “So you just threatened me with a gun. You just pulled a gun on my face. Man, Lord have mercy on you. This means you don’t even know who you are. I still love you though. Even you pulled a gun on me, I still love you, I still bless you.”
The video, which had been shared on the Christian Forgiveness Ministries’ YouTube channel, sparked a variety of reactions online, with many praising Kihara’s composure in the face of aggression. Comments included expressions of gratitude for his safety and commendations for his bravery.
There remains uncertainty about the authenticity of the weapon, with some online observers speculating that it could have been a CO2 BB gun or an air pistol. As of now, it is unclear whether Kihara reported the incident to law enforcement.
After the initial confrontation, another individual approached Kihara to confront him about his preaching, arguing against his message regarding transgender individuals. Kihara maintained his stance, asserting that he was preaching the truth, and the heated exchange continued for several minutes before the woman ultimately walked away.
This incident underscores the tensions surrounding discussions of gender ideology and the implications they carry within public discourse.
