The 34th Annual Gotham Awards Kicks Off Awards Season
The Gotham Awards commenced their 34th edition on December 2, celebrating excellence in American independent cinema and unequivocally marking the onset of the fall and winter awards season. The event showcased a blend of talent and creativity as Hollywood stars graced the red carpet.

Leading the Nominations
This year, “Anora” captured the spotlight with four nominations, including Best Feature. The film chronicles the life of a young sex worker from Brooklyn who impulsively marries the son of a Russian oligarch. Noteworthy nominations included Sean Baker for Best Director and actors Mikey Madison and Yura Borisov, recognized for Best Lead and Best Supporting Performance, respectively.
Other contenders for Best Feature included “Babygirl,” which earned Nicole Kidman a nod for Best Lead Performance; “Challengers”; “A Different Man,” with Adam Pearson nominated for Best Supporting Performance; and “Nickel Boys,” which garnered two additional nominations: Best Director for RaMell Ross and Breakthrough Performance for Brandon Wilson.
