A resident of Vincentian Schenley Gardens in Pittsburgh recently celebrated an impressive milestone, marking her 107th birthday with a grand party organized by the nursing home staff.
Anne Saunders, who has called the nursing home in the Oakland neighborhood her home, commemorated this special day on Tuesday. Born in the southern United States, Anne relocated to Pittsburgh’s Hill District during her childhood, shaping much of her early life in the city.
“She is the oldest resident we have,” remarked Rosemary Malanoski, responsible for community life and campus engagement at the facility. “We’ve had residents reach 102 years old, but 107 is truly remarkable, making this a unique occasion for everyone here.”
In addition to the festive celebration, Anne was honored with a proclamation from Pennsylvania Representative La’Tasha Mayes, recognizing her remarkable age and contributions to the community.
