“Poker Face” is set to return for its second season this spring on Peacock.
This upcoming season will come more than two years after the first season premiered in January 2023, which featured an impressive ensemble cast, including talents like Adrien Brody, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Stephanie Hsu, Clea DuVall, and Ron Perlman.
Peacock has also unveiled several first-look photos for Season 2, featuring intriguing scenes with Lyonne and John Mulaney, as well as Lyonne interacting with multiple versions of Cynthia Erivo’s character, further piquing interest in the upcoming episodes.
The forthcoming season will draw heavily from the aesthetic of 1970s American cinema while paying homage to classic television series such as “Columbo,” “The Rockford Files,” and “Quantum Leap.” This unique blend is expected to enhance the show’s appeal to both new viewers and longtime fans.
In a statement, Johnson and Lyonne expressed their excitement for the new season, highlighting Charlie’s continued misadventures as she tackles a mix of quirky settings—from minor league baseball games to funeral homes—while employing her sharp wit and keen ability to detect lies.
“Charlie Cale is back on the run, and in Season 2 we’ve taken her journey to the next level one murder mystery at a time. Each episode is a mini movie, existing in its own world with a unique tone and vibe, featuring an eccentric lot of characters played by a truly gonzo parade of guest stars,” the creators noted.
They went on to express their gratitude for the talented guest stars who have joined the cast, emphasizing the joy and enthusiasm they brought to the project.
