Preity Zinta, co-owner of Punjab Kings, reveals she is unwell ahead of the IPL match against RCB.

Preity Zinta faces health challenges before her team’s IPL game against RCB.

Actress and co-owner of Punjab Kings, Preity Zinta, has recently disclosed her health struggles on social media. She expressed that she is feeling unwell with a fever and experiencing a “sleepless night” before Punjab Kings’ upcoming match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Mullanpur Stadium on Sunday. Preity attributed her illness to the stresses of frequent travel, the sweltering heat, and the instability of changing hotel accommodations, but mentioned her gratitude for her mother coming to support her. She remains optimistic about attending the match despite her condition, humorously referring to her fever as “cricket fever.”

In her post on X (formerly Twitter), Zinta stated, “I’m sure it’s all the hectic travel, excessive heat n air conditioning exposure & constantly changing hotel rooms that has brought on the fever. It’s never fun when you are sick & having a sleepless night. Thank god mom is coming to see me & the game tomorrow. Hope I can make it to the Mullanpur stadium since it’s our last home game in Chandigarh before we move to Dharamshala for the next set of home games. Good bye n goodnight to all the night owls I’m just gonna pretend it’s cricket fever n try to get some much needed sleep … and ignore all the fake news circulating online.”

In addition to her health update, Zinta addressed a circulating fake news story regarding her team’s player selections. She refuted claims stemming from a social media post that cited her comments on rejecting cricketer Rishabh Pant in favor of Shreyas Iyer for her team, clarifying that the information was false.

This controversy began when an X user claimed, “Rishabh Pant had said in an interview that I could go anywhere but not to Punjab Kings. But now Punjab owner Preity Zinta exposed Rishabh Pant and said, ‘We had both Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer- options we could have taken in the team. But we wanted a big performer, not a big name…so we took Shreyas Iyer in the team.” Preity responded firmly, “I’m so sorry but this is fake news!”

On another note, Zinta is poised to return to the film scene. She is set to star alongside Sunny Deol in the film “Lahore 1947,” directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, which also features Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal, and is produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
