On Irrfan Khan’s 5th death anniversary, Priyanka Chopra shared a heartfelt tribute remembering their time on 7 Khoon Maaf.
Priyanka Chopra penned a moving tribute to honor Irrfan Khan on the occasion of his fifth death anniversary, recalling their time together in the film 7 Khoon Maaf. Alongside a poignant image from the movie, she expressed her thoughts on Instagram, saying, “Thinking of you and your talent…”
Irrfan Khan, who passed away in April 2020 at the age of 53, had been battling a neuroendocrine tumor for two years prior to his death. At that time, Priyanka also shared an emotional remembrance of his legacy, stating, “The world will always remember your legacy #irrfankhan. You fought like a warrior… Rest in peace, my friend.. My condolences to the family,” a tribute that resonated widely, garnering over 2.3 million likes.
In his final communication to his fans, during the promotional campaign for Angrezi Medium, Irrfan recorded a heartfelt voice note as he was unable to attend in person due to health issues. He opened with, “Hello brothers and sisters… This is me, Irrfan. Today I’m with you but also not with you.” Reflecting on the film, he described Angrezi Medium as a project deeply special to him, expressing a desire to promote it “with as much love as we have put in the making of it.” The film was shot during his treatment, demonstrating his commitment to his craft.
Irrfan famously quoted, “There is a saying… ‘When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of it.’ It sounds good. But when life actually puts a lemon in your hands, it becomes really tough to make lemonade.” His distinctive voice conveyed the struggle of positivity in challenging times.
Despite the difficulties he faced, Irrfan emphasized the importance of positivity, stating, “We have made this film with the same positivity. And I hope this film will teach you, make you laugh, make you cry and then make you laugh again. Enjoy the trailer and be kind to each other… And yes, wait for me.”
